Futsal-IFMR Sri City’s First football tournament

Former Manchester United midfielder Roy Keane Quoted “I don’t believe skill was, or ever will be, the result of coaches. It is a result of a love affair between the child and the ball.” And believe me exactly the same happened when, even budding managers from this cricket frenzy nation jumped down to join the passion called football.

Yes,It was one of the most  awaited sporting events of the calendar, and also anticipated to be one of the most followed up.It turned up the same, even it surpassed all the expectations as well, turning down the tide(believe me or not!) of assignments and presentations that were there lined up to follow them the next day, They gunned them down,or as an avid Arsenal fan would use metaphorically.
Wherever the game is played,a flurry of emotions follow, it is always the passion and the sportsmanship which has been the essence of any sport. Significantly in a team game like football, the team chemistry matters, which was visible, and took no time build. Hesitatingly, I would comment that they played like professionals teamed up for this particular event for so long,as it was the desire to excel.

Sweat flowed out and water jars were called in,men(women as well) fought it for the love affair Mr Keane has already mentioned . One will win,and others will disappear the pages of history, wounds  and blood will dry,and the unkempt, dusty and war torn ground will soak the upcoming droplets of rain.
But the men will carry what  the game has unraveled about,is of pride, unity and cohesiveness, which is also exhibited by the audiences, who came to witness it live-blood.
Oh,Now I see what made them electrifying and ever defiant,it would be an gross injustice if the support from their colleagues, Sports Committee and the ever  fatherly college management has not been mentioned.
It was just because of them who provisioned, checked and physically remained present to
cheer us all along and back us when we fall.
Back to the game it was two teams from batch 16th The Flying Mavericks & The Titans who made it to the finals,The Flying Mavericks continuing their dream run from the just concluded basketball event, just to be unlucky enough to be stopped the reigning Titans who were in no mood to let the loose the sight of the trophy.
Thus the final scores being 3-1 favouring the Titans.

The sports committee promised to bring the fiesta again next year, and we can be  outrightly assured to add it to ‘must watch list’ alongside UEFA Champions League,English Premier League and La Liga.
Till then I can engage myself in FIFA 15,as the sportsman in me is ready to unleash,
Whistles….Kick off!
